How easy is it to compare the different bank rates? Does the site offer tables, graphs or a rate calculator? Is information for online customers easy to find?.

Personal Finance Expert

There is a bank rates calculator hidden in the bottom right-hand corner of their website. We are completely confused by this. Credit.com’s free interactive rate calculators can help you prepare for an auto or home loan, plan for retirement and set savings goals. They work, but you have to find them first.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

We like the fact that there are only 4 major categories to choose from. This simplifies matters. However, the credit cards category has so many options that it is confusing. Comparatively the other categories are rather limited in terms of what they offer. A mediocre rating will suffice.

How detailed are the different bank comparison descriptions? Is the information on rates easy to follow or written in complex jargon? Are the various bank rate options easy to compare and are breakdowns provided? We graded on content..

The different bank descriptions are kept to a bare minimum here. We are very impressed by this. Each card being offered is listed in its own section with the requirements for qualifying for the card, what it entails and other related content. It’s easy to read and not laced with jargon.

Why is it different to other bank rate comparison websites? We graded on originality and innovation..

In terms of innovation, credit.com is on top of their game. They have a system for card types, such as excellent credit, average credit and no credit. Beyond that they are a leading online comparison vehicle for bringing about positive change for consumers.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support and telephone contacts available to users..

Sadly we could not locate any ‘help’ or ‘contact us’ or ‘support’ sections on site. Perhaps a ‘bank compare’ category would work? We searched in vain. There are credit.com partners for debt consolidation in a ‘Debt Help’ section but we’re not sold on this idea at all.

How interactive is this site? Is there a Facebook Group? Twitter? RSS feeds? Linked In? Forum? We found out..

We found credit bloggers and forums available on site. That will get www.credit.com some points, but not a whole lot. Our reaction to their social options is lukewarm at best.

In the ‘About Us’ section of their website they provide a list of user-generated testimonials. This is one of the few credit card sites that we have reviewed that actually makes this information readily available.

There is TRUSTe click to verify site security and a standard privacy policy in place. That means that customers can choose - to a limited degree – which 3^rd parties have access to their private information.
