Great Customer Care
GMACmortgage offers purchase options, refinance options, checking rates, calculators and resource center information. Plus there is also help for homeowners. But overall we are not satisfied with the few services this mortgage bank offers.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

The site is generally easy to navigate, but it is ineffectual at providing sufficient online mortgage rates information under the category tabs. The navigation simply offers too many links on too many pages.

There are 11 available calculators, which begs the question as to why they have made it so complex. Everything from Alternative Payment Frequencies to a Home Equity Calculator is discussed.

How detailed are the mortgage descriptions? Is the information on mortgages easy to follow or written in complex jargon? Are the various mortgage options easy to compare and are breakdowns provided? We graded on content..
Under the ‘Resource Center’ category tab there are 6 mortgage programs listed and explained in detail.  But the text is loaded with a mass of content, to the point of being unnerving. In addition the font is too small and too many possibilities are explored.

Their ‘Contact Us’ page is a mass of confusion. We were not sure which column try and decipher first. It should be made much more user-friendly with specific on-site forms, e-mail addresses and telephone/fax numbers clearly displayed.

Is this site safe? Does the site protect my personal information? Is the privacy policy easy to find? Will this site bombard me with emails or share my details with other providers? Is this site recommended or verified by a regulator?.
Here they are different to most of our reviewed sites. They offer a clear distinction between privacy and SSN security, in both English and Spanish. But their actual use of personal information is pretty standard. Customers have a say in how certain information is shared with 3rd parties.  On site info is secure with Entrust.Net software.
