Diversified list of options
Govloans offers its diversified list of clientele the following loan options: general loans, agriculture loans, business loans, disaster relief loans, education loans, housing loans and veteran loans. This is fraught with all sorts of jargon and specific terminology. If it’s for impoverished folks in rural surrounds, it should be much more user-friendly.

How easy is it to find out the borrowing rates? Does the site offer tables, graphs or a rate calculator? Is information for borrowers easy to find?.
We logged into multiple types of loans and tried to locate loan terms and rates calculations. Sadly there was little information of any use to us. This is unacceptable at this level from government lenders.

Can I easily check my credit score online? Here we look at each site and evaluate the process of getting a personal credit score..
They provide a document – after several searches on site, from the Federal Trade Commission. This serves to better inform customers about the importance of credit scores and credit records. There are links to Equifax and Experian, but we found this information unstructured and a total disaster for clients in need of help.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support, live chat and telephone contacts available to users..
This is yet another example of government bureaucracy at its worst. An awful support network accompanies this site. Govloans.gov provides applicants with this message ‘We regret that we cannot respond to specific scenarios or provide personalized advice.’ Now when a client is looking for help and sees this, it’s a total failure in our book.

How detailed are the loan descriptions? Is the information on loans easy to follow or written in complex jargon? Are the various loan options easy to compare and are breakdowns provided? We graded on content. .
Govloans.gov is really good at providing information, and we mean loads of it. So much so that prospective clients are buried in data. There is a form to complete which does proscribes adding any personal information – quite strange.

Sadly there’s absolutely nothing here. We searched from top to bottom and couldn’t locate any information on social options from Govloans.gov.  In this area they score another 0.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

Clicking through the site was like being air-dropped into the middle of the Atlantic. You have no idea where you’re going and there is so much text everywhere that it’s disquieting.  There are some nice images and useful links – but it’s certainly not an attractive website at all.

Is this site safe? Does the site protect my personal information? Is the privacy policy easy to find? Will this site bombard me with emails or share my details with other providers? Is this site recommended or verified by a regulator?.
This is big brother so we can’t exactly trust everything they do with personal loans information. Having said that, their privacy policy is geared towards protecting the personal information of clients. They do not collect or store personal information about clients when they visit the site. The information they receive depends upon what clients do when visiting the site.
