Quality of the finance news and journalism on the site. Here we look at the quality and range of the information on the site. Is the information in the finance news useful and well categorized? We found out..
For Investors Education
There is a great deal of financial content on site. In literal terms, Investopedia is a financial investment encyclopedia. The money content is easy to read but takes a while to load up. The site scores an average grade here.

How often is this site updated with financial news? Is it daily, by the hour or by the minute? We graded on the relevancy and currency of the breaking financial news..
As it functions like a resource center, its focus is not predominantly on breaking news per se, but also on generating sound financial content. As such we did not expect to find up-to-the-minute news stories. We did not find published dates or times on the articles.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

Navigation on this site is clunky. We really struggled to find our bearings here. It’s such a vast expanse of content that we were stunned by the volume and distribution of its contents. It’s a literal minefield out there

How does the site look? This parameter evaluates the overall design, style, colors and feel of the site, giving extra points for innovative techniques..
There is too much information and too much advertising. We want something a lot less complex. There are so many category tabs that it’s hard to see the end of them. And with all the financial calculators and Forex currency conversion tools, it gets overwhelming.

Why is it different to other financial news sites? We graded on originality and innovation..

Well we got stuck on a finance page for several minutes. So we figured whatever good they’re attempting to do with innovative ideas were being lost on us with poor page uploads.

There are many stats provided about financial performance and various indicators; however the biggest problem we have found is the complexity of finding this information.

What else can I do here? Are there online videos, audio, images, podcasts or anything else? We found out..
We managed to locate trading centers and tutorials in addition to several videos and other forums/social networking feeds.  Sadly Investopedia scores only an average rating in this sector.
